Mindset Go: Venn Diagram Puzzle Game Launches in Print & Mobile! (2025)

Get ready for a mind-bending adventure with Mindset Go, a unique Venn diagram puzzler that's taking the world by storm!

The Puzzle Phenomenon

Magicave, a talented UK studio, has just scored a major deal to bring their innovative puzzle game to The Observer newspaper. Every Sunday, readers will now have the chance to tackle versions of the captivating puzzles from Mindset Go, a mobile game that's recently taken the app stores by storm.

But here's where it gets controversial...

Mindset Go, created by the visionary team of CEO Harry Holmwood, CTO Ed Thorley, and Creative Director Ste Curran, is not your average puzzle game. It's a daily challenge that relies on the power of Venn diagrams to test your problem-solving skills.

Curran, the game's designer, had a hunch that this concept would work across different mediums. And he was right! With a few strategic connections, including a key introduction by Observer contributor Simon Parkin, Mindset Go found its way into the hands of puzzle editor Caitlin O'Kane, who instantly fell in love with the concept.

"We worked closely with The Observer's design team to adapt the puzzles for print, creating some unique Shape Sets specifically for paper. But the rest was simple; The Observer's rich history in the puzzle space made it the perfect fit," Curran explains.

A Toddler-Inspired Journey

Curran's inspiration for Mindset Go came from an unexpected source - a playful moment with his toddler, building with Lego. From this simple beginning, a small team of four dedicated developers spent over a year crafting the game, with the team expanding to nine as they approached the soft launch.

The developers describe Mindset Go as a 'smart casual' game, highlighting its versatility and adaptability. "Its mechanics allow for different themes, branding, and collaborations without altering its core logic. That's extremely rare in puzzle design," Curran notes.

A Balancing Act

Mindset Go's puzzles are designed to challenge, and the studio acknowledges that they're on the tougher side for a daily puzzle game. However, they've put in the effort to ensure that casual players can also enjoy the game, refining the tutorial and early puzzle design through extensive testing with a diverse group of friends and family.

"On one end, we have a dedicated community on Discord who are absolute experts, solving puzzles at lightning speed. On the other, we have people who rarely play puzzle games. Their feedback helped us create a game that caters to both extremes," Curran adds.

And with Mindset Go's weekly appearance in The Observer, the team is excited to introduce a new audience to the game's elegant simplicity.

"It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Mindset brand and the beauty of its puzzle mechanic. We can't wait to see how our audience engages with it!"

So, are you ready to give Mindset Go a try? Will you be solving these puzzles on your mobile device or with a good old-fashioned pen and paper? Let us know in the comments - we'd love to hear your thoughts on this innovative puzzle game!
